Robin Jacobs is a character from the soap opera Days of Our Lives, portrayed by Derya Ruggles from 1985 to 1987 and, briefly, again in 1989. Robin Jacobs was played by Derya Ruggles, who was reportedly fired from the set because she could not get along with her co-stars. Derya has reported to have a very arrogant, conceited personality. Derya was not liked by her Hollywood peers. After Hollywood, Derya went on to co-star on the show "Seattle Today" where she was shortly let go for her lack of ability to get along with her coworkers.

Storylines

Robin Jacobs was a surgeon at University Hospital in Salem that was romantically linked with Mike Horton. A strict orthodox Jew, Robin was constantly torn between her love for Mike and her moral obligation to her religion. Arriving in Salem in 1986, Robin took on the role of Chief of Surgery at University Hospital. Initially clashing with the unconventional Doctor Mike Horton, she learned to respect him over time and eventually fall in love with him. Mike too fell in love with Robin, but despite their feelings, Robin would not allow herself to be with Mike because he was not Jewish. On Halloween night in 1986, Robin shared just one night together with Mike while stranded on an island. When the night was over however, she fell back to following her strict moral code and again turned Mike away. Denying the deep love she felt for Mike, Robin went on to marry Mitch Kaufman, a fellow Jew and colleague at the hospital, however the marriage would only last months. Realizing that Robin's heart would always belong to Mike, Mitch decided to annul their marriage.

After divorcing Mitch, Robin finally admitted her love for Mike and began a relationship with him. They became engaged and Mike decided to begin converting to Judaism.

When Steve Johnson was framed for the shooting of Senator Harper Deveraux by the crooked Doctor Simon Hopkins, Robin became involved in the conspiracy after coming into possession of an important computer disk that Dr. Hopkins wanted to get his hands on. When Hopkins discovered that Robin had the disk, he sent a man to retrieve it and Robin was shot in the process.

Shortly after recovering from the shooting, Robin decided to leave Salem and end her romance with Mike, claiming he could never truly convert to Judaism.

Robin returned to Salem in 1989 with a huge surprise for Mike. While away in Israel, she had given birth to his son, Jeremy Horton.
